Have you developed knee pain in young age? You might be cured by cartilage repair. Small to medium sized areas of damage can be treated by this method. Cartilage damage is the pre cursor to arthritis. Early diagnosis and treatment can delay progression to osteo-arthritis. See how a young patient obtained complete relief from this procedure in India. He experienced knee pain for several years and found it difficult to even walk. He consulted doctors in other countries but couldn’t get a solution. He finally found Dr.Venkatachalam in Chennai who is one of the few surgeons doing this procedure in India. His pain has been relieved and his movements restored.

Autologous chondrocyte implantation is a two step process. It is best suited for early cases of cartilage loss. When patients feel a sharp pain while climbing stairs or rising , it is an indication of early cartilage loss. Proper investigations and biological treatment at this stage can prevent progression to osteo-arthritis.

Dear Doctor,
I had partial menisectomy in my left knee 3yr & 6 months back. The pain has not fully gone despite rehab. in fact about an year back while doing treadmill the pain suddenly increased & has stayed on. The MRI does not indicate a retear, however the pain persists & doctors say it could be due to arthritis.
I believe there is technology available today to implant the meniscus removed in menisectomy, various options like Actifit or Menaflex are there. Are these options available in India. And how successful are these.
Please advise.
Thanks,
meena
